Anyways coming to the point, which in one way can be said as continuation to the above post ! Last post covered valuing aspects of GRATITUDE and today's post covers "THANK YOU" aspect !
So to whom are we paying the tribute today ! Not the last but the starting and and not at all the least but the essential - our own - DNA !!!
Well today, I planned for this is simply because of :
Firstly, I am a geneticist and a genetic counselor.
Secondly, While working around I got to know that 25th April is celebrated as the DNA DAY !!!! It is celebrated (mainly in US) to mark important discovery in genetics - DNA model as per Watson and Crick and completion of Whole Genome Project.
Thirdly, when we can show gratitude to our outer most expanding universe and omnipresent then why not our inner most - the building block of life - DNA !
So, here I thank EVOLUTION to bless us with DNA - the most complex and the most simplest at the same point - which makes us - US, trees TREES, birds - BIRDS, animals - ANIMALS, bacteria - BACTERIA. Literally all !
We all have read and studied about DNA at various levels of education. Higher it goes, complexity increases. Personal observation. One thing, which makes you go Oh MY GOD ! {mixed emotions}

Anyways - here I wish to share few of necessary information, observations and perceptions regarding our own DNA ! Here it goes :
1) DNA CANNOT BE SEEN : Yes. Truth. DNA has not been seen yet. Whatever we study, display, visualize are the proposed models and best accepted ones. Based on various research level experiments, it has been deduced and presented. But, as said it cannot be seen ! It can be observed maximum up to the levels of chromosome under microscope.
2) DNA is not in English. This one is LOL ! There is a short story behind it. In an local area, to bring awareness about DNA one of the premium lab in India set up a free DNA isolation camp in which an individual's blood was taken, DNA extracted, contained and given back to people as souvenir. Out of curiosity one lady asked what is DNA ! In response, one said about - in DNA there is A paired to T and G paired to C. To this lady exclaimed- DNA is in ENGLISH too ! All laughed, but one should keep it in mind, it is not A, T, G and C. Its just a representation for ease of use. These are chemical constituents which forms DNA as a unit and so on !
3) DNA is building block of life. In scientific language, it is the structural and functional unit of life. It is the base line coded definition of you ! How you are, how you will be and every inch of you !
4) Environment affects. We all know, cancer is a deadly disease and is caused by external sources - sometimes, alcohol, nicotine, drugs, other chemicals, sunlight. When all such components affect us - what about our daily experiences. Stress, fear, anger - though this impact might not have been quantified yet it affects us till DNA and leaves a gradual impact which is in most ways is negative only.
5) We all share DNA. You like pizza. Cool. I hate it ! You hate dance. SO, what I love music. No matter and in all matter - we all share this one thing DNA - not just among humans but all living organisms blessed to be on this planet !
