NAMASTE (An indian way to greet people)
Well, we all have set "to do list" or "goals" ! If not, then may be you are from different planet ! [I got my eyes on you !]
Today's time we have loaded of work. Its not that before it wasn't used to be. People have now become more aware and conscious about individual perspectives. Randomness is not confused with spontaneity anymore !
From a 12 year old student to an experienced person, all have at least once adopted this way of leading life.
Among these, which one was you! Shall we see :
1st type - I used to be this type when I was in like 9th or so. The focus on this was simply time. For example - 15: 30 to 16:15 - 10 numericals. 16:30 to 17: 30- learn one new chapter. 17:30 to 18:00 Rest. Can you predict what used to be actually happening. Numericals took time till resting time. Then rest was given preference because you got tired. After that whole evening was taken by the chapter. And the day ended with a sigh and accumulated remaining work !
2nd type - Daily work. You keep on striking today's completion and whatever is left is carried over to tomorrow's and on and on !
3rd type - You make monthly agendas. Like, finish book in 2 months. Complete all book questions in 1 month. Learn this and that.
4th type - You divide your goals in long term and short term ones. And, try to sync all so that all ends ticked !
I am aware rather observed these types of goals. Other types, if you know - feel free to share. :)
And, as you all know where I am heading to; all of these have one more thing in common after - wastage of paper - which is never getting 100 % resolving the purpose for which it was made.
Lets see an example : if suppose my today's goal was to complete ten numericals and learn one chapter. The major focus instead of grabbing the concept was flipped to finishing within the specific time. I was all the way underlining important lines, reading just to reach the finish timeline. Hence, purpose - defeated
If I make daily to do and keep on accumulating for next day and on. There will come a time I will have more to - do list points than hours in day. Which will lead to stress 1 Hence, purpose defeated.
Regarding. weekly and monthly goals what we fail to realize is the sudden arising priorities,sudden change in plans, and sudden realization of priorities which we cannot control !
Even if you scratch all the to -do list, the purpose still remained DEFEATED !!!!
Curiosity Quotient - If it is such a flop idea, than why your post title says - Ultimate way to set new Goals [ and complete them ]
Ya ! I am coming to that ! You have to make a flow na ! You just don't start from - voldemort hence killed, you have to start with - 'the boy who lived' YO! #LOL
Anyways, coming to the point - according to me all types of plans are just fine. If you are a person, who knows your capacity, then even 1st type of planning is also fine ! The only special mixture of ingredients which I am now going to point will bring ultimate finesse to your goals and completing them and also fully resolving the purpose ! How - check it out !
We have all heard this - "If you are setting new goals for yourself, be sure to put enjoyment of life at top of the list !
I SAY - be sure to put enjoyment of life WITH ALL the listed points.
- All work is not what we wished for, some are our responsibilities, duties and what not ! Still its something you are challenged with. Accept them mentally first. Lets say - I have to help my friend with her problem. She was always there when I needed her. I am not saying to make it a only priority but you can adjust
- Whenever you start making your list, first in rough side - write all without scheduling with time. Now, relax for few seconds. Take deep breathe. Think of life you dream of. Don't force just let it replay in your mind. Next, take one goal at a time - first think - how NOT doing will hamper your dream life! Imagine it. Next, think - how doing this will help you achieve step ahead in your dream life! Try giving sensible explanation to yourself. And, after you are done with all, you can smoothly carry on making your list of goals.
- Prioritize on the basis of urgency, time till which it should be done and importance !
Don't move to the next until you resolved with one thing. Don't let the purpose remain unsolved even if takes more time. Value time. Its better to take 2 hrs in completing half a chapter than completing whole in one hour and still not remembering anything
The enjoyment in finishing the work is something different which gives permanent happiness. For example - I am cherishing this moment on posting on time on my blog. LOL but true !
Remember the time when you gave your best in presentation, or meeting, or homework or simply any circle of your life !
So, guys that's it for today ! Plan for ahead. Nobody can control what will happen but that does not stop you from planning and synchronizing your life. Its like asking - when we have to die only, why to live than. LOL !
